F.C. København is seeking a new sports director after Sune Smith-Nielsen's dismissal on February 23. Jacob Lauesen, CEO of F.C. København, states that the club is evaluating its sports setup and looking for a profile that can lead the team. It has been a month since Lauesen said that the club had plans to have a new sports director in place by June 15. And it seems that they have not yet found the right candidate. F.C. København has had some very comprehensive, strategic discussions and evaluated its sports setup, says Lauesen. This has been done in close cooperation with employees and external partners such as Excel Sports Management. The evaluation naturally also affects the recruitment of a sports director, as the role is now very comprehensive, and the person must gather the threads across both the first team, the talent department, the women's team, and FC Rosengård 1917. At the same time, we have identified a number of operational areas that we want to optimize in the future - including data, player care, and training facilities. Therefore, we are looking for a profile that can both lead the team and establish the right team around them. So we are taking the necessary time to find the right solution - even if it means that the process takes a little longer than expected, but it does not mean that the sports work is standing still in the meantime, says Lauesen. F.C. København is well underway with preparations for the upcoming season, and the agreements with Felix Beijmo and Thomas Delaney, as well as the promotion of Tobias Breum-Harild, are clear evidence that the club is in full swing. The preparations for the upcoming season have been underway for a long time, and we have skilled specialists in our sports department with great experience and expertise. They are working on things, and we have some concrete goals and plans for the coming period, so you can be completely calm. As soon as we have news, we will naturally announce it, says Lauesen.
