F.C. København has been penalized by the Danish Football Association's Disciplinary Committee after fans caused trouble both during the cup final against FC Midtjylland and the playoff game against Brøndby. The penalty means that Section 12 will now be closed for the first two home games of the Superliga season. This applies to the games against Lyngby Boldklub on July 27 and against Sønderjyske on August 31. F.C. København is also fined 100,000 kr. The Disciplinary Committee has in its judgment emphasized the extensive and coordinated use of pyrotechnics at both games, and it is considered an aggravating circumstance that the burning caused delays - in both games, the second half had to be postponed. During the cup final, the referee had to send both teams back to the dressing rooms for safety reasons due to a bombardment of pyrotechnic articles, one of which exploded near a steward, while several fans were hit by uncontrolled fireworks. F.C. København takes the incidents very seriously, which have now cost the closure of Section 12 for two games and a fine. The club has already expressed its concern over the fans' behavior and promises to take steps to prevent similar incidents in the future. F.C. København's players and management have also been informed of the penalty and agree that it is necessary to take responsibility for the fans' behavior. It is not yet clear how the penalty will affect the club in the long run, but it is certain that it will have a negative impact on the games against Lyngby Boldklub and Sønderjyske.
